BARC Recruitment 2023 : Eligibility Criteria
Qualification Details :
- Technical Officer: Candidates must have completed BE/B. Tech/M. Sc in the relevant discipline.
- Scientific Assistant: Candidates must have a B. Sc. in Food Technology, Nutrition, or Home Science.
- Technician (Boiler Attendant): Candidates must have passed 10th grade and have a Second Class Boiler Attendant’s Certificate.
- Stipendiary Trainee (Category I): Candidates must have a B. Sc./Diploma in the relevant discipline.
- Stipendiary Trainee (Category II): Candidates must have completed 10th/12th/Certificate/Diploma in the relevant discipline.
Age Limit :
- Technical Officer: The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 35 years.
- For the post of Scientific Assistant, the candidates must be at least 18 years old and should not exceed 30 years of age.
- Technician (Boiler Attendant): The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years.
- Stipendiary Trainee (Category I): The minimum age limit is 19 years and the maximum age limit is 24 years.
- Stipendiary Trainee (Category II): The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 22 years

BARC Recruitment 2023 : Selection Process
For Technical Officer/C:
- The candidate’s performance in the interview will be the basis for the final selection.
- If the response is high, the center may conduct a Computer Based Screening Test (CBST) on an all-
- India basis in the relevant discipline to shortlist candidates for the interview.
- The syllabus for the CBST will be based on subjects at the Diploma/B.Sc. level.
- The candidate’s performance in the interview will be the basis for the final selection. No weightage will be given for marks scored in the CBST.
For Scientific Assistant/B and Category-I Stipendiary Trainee:
- A one-hour long Computer Based Screening Test (CBST) consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be conducted on an all-India basis.
- For each correct answer, the candidate will receive ‘3’ marks, and for each incorrect answer, ‘1’ mark will be deducted.
- The syllabus for the CBST will be based on subjects at the Diploma/B.Sc. level.
- Candidates qualifying in the CBST will be shortlisted for the interview.
- The candidate’s performance in the interview will be the basis for the final selection. No weightage will be given for marks scored in the CBST.
Technician/B and Category-II Stipendiary Trainee:
- The selection procedure involves three stages of testing: the Preliminary Test, the Advanced Test, and the Skill Test.
- The Preliminary Test will be a one-hour long Computer Based Test consisting of 50 MCQs in Mathematics, Science, and General Awareness.
- For each correct answer, the candidate will receive ‘3’ marks, and for each incorrect answer, ‘1’ mark will be deducted.
- Candidates scoring less than 40% in the general category and less than 30% in the reserved category will not qualify for further screening.
- The Advanced Test will be a two-hour long Computer Based Test consisting of 50 MCQs.
- The Merit List of candidates will be created solely based on the scores obtained in Stage-2.
- Candidates shortlisted for Stage 3 will undergo a Skill Test based on Go/No-Go basis.
- Final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the Skill Test and the marks secured in Stage 2 – Advanced Test.
- In the event of a tie in Empanelment Criteria, various resolutions will be considered in the order specified in the guidelines.
