CTET 2023 Important Documents

CTET 2023 Exam Pattern

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) comprises two papers, namely Paper I (for classes I to V) and Paper II (for classes VI to VIII). Each paper contains 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with no negative marking, and each question carries one mark. The test lasts for 2.5 hours. Paper I consists of subjects like Introduction to Education, Language I and II, Mathematics, Ecology, and Environment. Paper II includes topics such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics, and Science (for Mathematics and Science teachers), and Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teachers). Candidates can appear for either Paper I, Paper II, or both. To qualify for the CTET credential, candidates need to secure at least 60% marks. The credential is valid for seven years.



CTET Eligibility Criteria 2023 

To qualify for Paper I (classes I-V), candidates must have completed or be enrolled in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). For Paper II (classes VI-VIII).

Candidates should have a graduate degree with at least 50% marks and have passed or appeared in the final year of a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). The CTET does not have a specified age limit, and candidates of all nationalities who meet the eligibility criteria may apply. Additionally, there is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate can make for the CTET.
