CSBO Recruitment 2023 : Qualification Details
- To be eligible, the candidate should have cleared the matriculation or 10th class examination or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized board.
- The candidate must have proficiency in handling the Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Board.
- Fluency in spoken English and Hindi is considered desirable for this position. That having a good command over both languages can be an added advantage for the candidate.
CSBO Recruitment 2023 : Age Limit
- Candidates applying for the post should be between 18 and 25 years of age as of the last date for receiving applications, as mentioned in the official notification. However, there are certain age relaxations provided as per government instructions, which are as follows:
- 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates.
- 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates with Disabilities (PwD) are eligible for a relaxation of up to 10 years (an additional 5 years for PwD candidates belonging to SC/ST and 3 years for OBC).
- Ex-servicemen who have served in the Army, Navy, or Air Force are eligible for a relaxation of up to 3 years.

CSBO Recruitment 2023 : Selection Process
- The selection process for the post of Civilian Switch Board Operator in the Indian Army is based on merit, determined by the marks obtained in the Written Test.
- The test consists of four parts – General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, General English, and Numerical Aptitude, and is bilingual (English and Hindi).
- No extra weightage is given for higher qualifications.
- Shortlisted applicants must also undergo a skill test, which is conducted for qualifying purposes only. Selection is based on merit in the Written Test, subject to the candidate qualifying in the skill test.
- If the number of applications received is large, the selection board reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in the minimum essential qualification of Matric or equivalent.
