Important Dates

  • The online application and fee payment process will commence on 16-02-2023 and end on 15-03-2023. The online exam is scheduled to take place from 17-04-2023 to 04-05-2023.

Application Fees

  • Candidates are required to pay the examination fee of Rs. 250/- using various payment modes such as debit card, credit card, net banking, or other available modes

Age Details

The age criteria for candidates applying for the position of Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher) are as follows:

  • The minimum age is 25 years.
  • The maximum age is 34 years.

Candidates must have been born between 01 Oct 1998 to 01 Oct 1989 (both dates inclusive).In-service candidates must meet the same age criteria as above.



For the position of Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer), the age criteria are as follows:

  • The minimum age is 25 years.
  • The maximum age is 34 years.

Candidates must have been born between 01 Oct 1998 to 01 Oct 2003 (both dates inclusive). In-service candidates applying for remustering should not be over 28 years (candidates should not be born before 01 Oct 1995).

  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

The eligibility criteria for the position of Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher) in the Indian Army for different religious denominations are as follows:



  • Pandit / Pandit Gorkha (Hindu Candidate): Sahastri / Acharya in Sanskrit with Karam Kand as the Main/Core subject OR One Year Diploma in Karam Kand.
  • Granthi (Sikh Candidate): Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university in India. The individual should have ‘Gyani’ in Punjabi.
  • Padre (Christian Candidate): Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university in India. The individual should have been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and be on the approved list of the local Bishop.
  • Maulvi (Shia) (Muslim Candidate): Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university in India. The individual should have Alim in Arabic or Adeeb-e-Mahir/Urdu Mahir in Urdu.
  • RT Budhist (Budhist Candidate): Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university in India. The individual should have been ordained Monk/Buddhist Priest by the Appropriate Authority. The term Appropriate Authority will mean the Head Priest of the Monastery where the person has been initiated into priesthood. The head priest should be in possession of Geshe (PhD) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with a proper certificate from Monastery.
Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer)
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Mathematics as one of the main subjects in Class 12th (10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks OR
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subjects in Class 12th (10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks OR
  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Civil, Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Technology or Computer Science, and Class 12th (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as the main subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in each subject.
