Naval Dockyard Recruitment 2023 : Eligibility Criteria
Educational qualification :
- As per the Apprentices Ac, the minimum educational qualification for individuals to undergo apprenticeship training in Designated Trades varies.
- For most trades, the minimum requirement is that the person should have passed Std. 10 (10th standard) examination with a minimum of 50% marks. Additionally, they should have passed the ITI examination in the relevant trade with an aggregate of 65% marks. The ITI qualification should be from an institute recognized by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training). The candidate must possess this qualification as of the closing date of the application.
- However, there are exceptions for certain trades. For the Rigger trade, the minimum qualification required is Std. 8 (8th standard) pass, without an ITI qualification. Similarly, for the Forger and Heat Treater trade, a 10th standard pass is sufficient, without an ITI qualification.
Age Limit :
- Candidates applying for the apprenticeship program should be between the ages of 14 and 21 years. This means they should have been born between “21 Nov 2002 to 21 Nov 2009”.
- There is age relaxation available for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, as per the existing rules.
- Additionally, wards of Defence employees or Naval civilians may also be eligible for age relaxation as per the Ministry of Defence letter FM/0442/NHQ/1278 D(N-II) dated 14 Nov 1996.
Naval Dockyard Recruitment 2023 : Salary Details
- During the first year of training, ITI passed candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 7000, while fresher candidates will receive Rs. 6000 per month.
- During the second year of training, there will be a 10% increase in the stipend amount.
Naval Dockyard Recruitment 2023 : Selection Procedure
Candidates who have been placed in the preliminary Merit List based on their performance in the written examination will be called for an Interview/Skill Test in September 2023.
The final merit list will be compiled by combining the marks obtained in the written examination and Interview/Skill test.
The reservations for different Apprenticeship Trades will be taken into consideration during the preparation of the merit list. Additionally, a reserve list of qualified candidates will be created.
If there is a tie in the final merit list, priority will be given to the candidate with higher marks in the ITI examination. If the tie still persists, the candidate with higher marks in the High School (Class 10) examination will be given preference.
Once the final merit list is prepared, candidates will be called for joining the apprenticeship training based on their merit standing, subject to meeting the required medical fitness criteria.

- Candidates must visit https://apprenticedas.recttindia.in to complete the online application.
- The portal will be available from the third day of publication in the Employment News and will remain open for 21 days.
- Documents such as passport-sized photograph, educational certificates, community certificate, disability certificate (if applicable), Armed Forces/Ex-Servicemen certificate, identity proof, and Aadhaar card must be uploaded in PDF format, with a maximum file size of 200 KB.
