Jishnu Barua was appointed as the new chairperson of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on February 27, 2023.
With his appointment, Barua will be responsible for leading the power regulator. Prior to this role, he served as the chief secretary of Assam from October 2020 to August 2022 and as additional chief secretary to Assam overseeing several state departments from August 2017 to October 2020.
