As per the Airports Council International (ACI) World's recent ranking, Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi has been positioned as the world's ninth busiest airport in 2022, with an annual passenger traffic of around 59.5 million.
This is a significant accomplishment for IGI Airport, which was placed 13th in 2021 and 17th in 2019 before the pandemic. Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) also announced separately that it is the solitary airport from South and Southeast Asia to feature in the top 10 list.
