The Ministry of Jal Shakti has recently published the initial Waterbody Census, unveiling that West Bengal has the greatest count of water bodies in India whereas Sikkim holds the lowest position.
The Census has been conducted in concurrence with the 6th Minor Irrigation Census under the Irrigation Census scheme initiated by the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
