Wing Commander Deepika Misra has made history as the first woman officer of the Indian Air Force to be bestowed with a gallantry award.
The President of India granted her the Vayu Seva Medal for gallantry on Independence Day last year, and she recently received the award from the Air Chief Marshal of the Indian Air Force at a ceremony in New Delhi.
