A new global alliance named the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) has been proposed by India, with the aim of safeguarding seven major big cats such as tigers, lions, and cheetahs.
The IBCA will be accessible to 97 countries and organizations that are interested in conserving these species. To support the IBCA, India has pledged a funding amount of 100 million USD over five years.
The IBCA intends to share knowledge and information related to the protection of these animals.The governance structure of the IBCA will comprise of a General Assembly and a council.
