The Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Government of India, in collaboration with the State Governments, Employers' Organizations, Trade Unions, and relevant institutions, organized the President's first Conference on Industrial Safety in Delhi from 11th to 13th December 1965. During the conference, it was unanimously agreed that there should be the establishment of National and State Safety Councils.
