The Indian Government has recently upgraded Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a state-owned railway company, from a 'Miniratna' category to a 'Navratna' Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE). The decision to grant this status was authorized by the Finance Minister and will become effective on April 26, 2023.
As a mid-cap organization under the Ministry of Railways, RVNL reported an annual turnover of Rs 19,381 crore and a net profit of Rs 1,087 crore for the year 2021-22. With this elevation, RVNL will become the 13th Navratna company among the CPSEs operating in India.
