Islam Nagar village, known for its forts, is located approximately 12 km away from Bhopal. According to some historical accounts, the village was originally named Jagdishpur around 308 years ago.

It is said that Dost Mohammed Khan, who established his capital at Jagdishpur, located 10 km away from present-day Bhopal, later renamed it as Islam Nagar.
