Shailesh Pathak, a former bureaucrat, has been appointed as the new Secretary General of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), and he assumed the role on March 1.
Pathak has worked for 37 years in various capacities with the government as an IAS officer and in large companies in the private sector. He has an MBA degree from IIM Calcutta and has also completed an LLB and a Diploma in Ornithology.
Pathak is an avid trekker and has scaled a 6831-metre peak in the Himalayas. Additionally, FICCI announced that Arun Chawla, Director General, will retire on June 30, 2023, and transition to an advisory role.
