Subhash Chandran's novel Samudrashila has been awarded the Akbar Kakkattil Award, which is named after the famous short story writer and novelist from Kozhikode.

The selection process involved a three-member jury who chose the winning literary work from among all those published in the last five years.

The award includes a cash prize of Rs 50,000 as well as a sculpture, and it will be presented to Mr. Subhash Chandran at an event on February 17 by writer M. Mukundan. Additionally, M.K. Muneer, MLA, will deliver a commemorative lecture at the event.

It is worth noting that this novel has also been awarded the M. Sukumaran Memorial Literary Award for the year 2021.
