1) The Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve, located in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu, has been awarded the prestigious TX2 award for doubling its tiger population to 80 since 2010. 2)The Sathyamangalam wildlife sanctuary was established as a tiger reserve in 2013, and the 1,411.60 sq km reserve serves as an important connection between the Nilgiris and Eastern Ghats landscape. The Nilgiri biosphere, of which this reserve is a part, is currently home to the world's largest tiger population. It is connected to other well-known tiger habitats such as the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Bandipur Tiger Reserve, and BR Hills Tiger Reserve.
